LIBYA'S TOP MAN HAS LINKS TO CIA AND AL QAEDA

Belhaj - the most powerful Libyan today.



Abdel hakim Belhaj is now the military boss in Tripoli.



He has long been linked to both the CIA and al Qaeda.



Belhaj's 'Tripoli Brigade', was trained in secret for two months by US Special Forces. (Asia Times Online : How al-Qaeda got to rule.)



Belhaj's Libyan Islamic Fighting Group has been part of al Qaeda.



In 2007, al-Qaeda's number two, Zawahiri, officially announced the merger between the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group and al-Qaeda



All the top military guys in today's Libya come from the al Qaeda-linked Libyan Islamic Fighting Group. (Asia Times Online :How al-Qaeda got to rule.)





In the 1980s, Belhaj was fighting alongside the CIA in Afghanistan.



Belhaj met Osama bin Laden. (Libya's Powerful Islamist Leader)



Belhaj has also operated in Pakistan and Iraq.



In 2003, Belhaj was arrested in Malaysia.



He was handed over to Libya, which eventually released him.





It looks like Belhaj is a top asset of the CIA and of al Qaeda.
